Bottlebrush Square

Red Weeping Bottlebrush – Callistemon viminalis – is a common Australian wildflower found along coastal regions of Qld & Northern NSW. In late spring the small trees erupt in a display of weeping brush-like flowers made up of many red stamens with bright yellow starry tips. The butterflies in my garden love these short lived by spectacular flowers. It is used extensively in landscaping & is also a food source for butterflies.
