Pelican Snapshot

Pelican Snapshot

The Australian Pelican was a bird I grew up watching on the many family holidays I spent fishing around the North Coast seaside town of Yamba when visiting my grandparents.

They are a large bird with long beaks that balloon out as they swallow their catches of fish.

On water & in the air they seem to glide along with ease but are cumbersome & waddle along on land.

This series of bird linocuts are based around the many photographs I have taken over the years – hence ‘snapshot’.
